Topic 1: Shapes

2-Dimensional (2D) shapes
2D shapes have 2 dimensions, e.g. width and height.
A circle has 1 side, no corners, and many lines of symmetry.
A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners.
A square has 4 equal sides, 4 equal corners, and 4 lines of symmetry.
A rectangle has 4 sides, 4 equal corners, and 2 lines of symmetry.
A sphere has 1 face and no edges or vertices.
A cylinder has 3 faces, 2 edges, and no vertices.
A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices.
A cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices.
A square-based pyramid has 5 faces, 8 edges, and 5 vertices.
A triangle-based prism has 5 faces, 6 edges, and 6 vertices.

3-Dimensional (3D) shapes
3D shapes have 3 dimensions, e.g. width, height and depth.
