For these questions, you need to understand place value.
The number 36 (thirty six) is made up of 3 tens and 6 units.
You may be asked to put a list of numbers in order, like this one:
50 48 45 63
63 has six tens - more than any of the other numbers, so it must be the biggest number. 50 has five tens, so it is the next biggest.
63 > 50
Both of the other numbers have four tens, so to tell which is bigger, look at the number of units. 48 has eight units, and 45 has five units, so 48 is bigger.
63 > 50 > 48 > 45
